Metastatic

A short narrative first person horror game produced in Unity for a course at Northeastern University. The assignment was to make a game the sole purpose of which was to elicit a single emotion - for my group, dread. We sought to accomplish this with vague environmental storytelling which leads the player to infer that they have cancer. At the end of the game, they are confronted by the game's sole jump scare, followed by the realization that they must undergo an operation in order to progress. This narrative was intended as a metaphorical expression of the dread and stages of denial that someone with a serious illness might experience.
